World Solo Drumming Championships – CANCELLED for 2021

The World Solo Drumming Championships, due to take place in Glasgow in October have been cancelled as a result of the covid-19 pandemic. The event, which would normally attract drummers from around the world to compete, is expected to return to Glasgow in 2022. The World Solo Drumming Championships is delivered on behalf of The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association by the charity Glasgow Life and is supported by Event Scotland and Andante Drums. It is the second time the World Solo Drumming Championships have been cancelled because of covid-19.

Kevin Reilly, Chairman of the RSPBA said: “We don’t want to cancel events that would normally attract people from around the world but no-one can predict what restrictions might still be in place in October. Naturally we, along with our sponsor Andante Drums, are very disappointed but I very much hope we will be welcoming the best drummers in the world back to Glasgow next year.”
